Shriya Powar (she/her/hers) is an Epidemiologist I and Research Associate at the Institute for Community Health. At ICH, Shriya is involved in evaluation projects related to children’s mental health, violence prevention, and substance use treatment among youth and vulnerable populations. She also contributes to research projects utilizing quantitative methods. Shriya has worked as a dentist in India, providing care to diverse communities, and was involved with research in pediatric and preventive dentistry.
Shriya received her BDS degree from Goa Dental College in India and completed her MPH degree focusing on epidemiology and biostatistics from Boston University. She was inducted into the Alpha Beta Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. Shriya shares a deep love for animals, and in her free time, she enjoys activities that invoke her creativity.
